Lee Jeffries is an accountant from Manchester by profession but for the past few years he’s traveled around the world photographing people he encounters on the streets, particularly the homeless.
He spends time getting to know each of his subjects before shooting them, which is evident in his work. The breath taking portraits seem to suggest details of each individuals life, taking a hard unflinching look at their personal condition.
Jeffries was just announced as the 2011 Digital Camera Photographer of the Year and you can read more about him at the Independent.

Cinque donne senza divisa. Una foto di gruppo che fa discutere quella scattata e postata sul social network più popolare da un gruppo di soldatesse israeliane in una camerata, dove scherzano indossando solo l’elmetto e cinturoni da combattimento per truppe di fanteria. Secondo la televisione commerciale Canale 2 si sono subito creati due ‘partiti’ pro e contro. Negativa, come comprensibile, la reazione del portavoce militare secondo cui innanzi tutto non è possibile stabilire con certezza che si tratti effettivamente di soldatesse. Qualora anche lo fossero, ha aggiunto il portavoce, si tratterebbe “di una grave infrazione della disciplina militare” (via Foto Soldatesse israeliane nude, la foto su Facebook - 1 di 1 - Repubblica.it)
Sparare su gente che cerca di prendere l’acqua al pozzo = OK
Farsi le foto mezze nude = IL MALE ASSOLUTO
